Plastic Man #14 (1948)

When a newly opened bridge begins to collapse, Plastic Man suspects mobster Cargill sabotaged it with shoddy concrete—leading to a showdown with the man now transformed into a living statue of concrete, thanks to a mad scientist’s experimental formula. As Plastic Man races to stop the newly invulnerable Cargill, he must outthink a foe who’s not only unbreakable but also eager to prove his toughness in the most dramatic way possible.

In this 1948 adventure, Plastic Man brings his bumbling but enthusiastic associate, Bloodhound Bud Bickram, along on a mission to infiltrate the hidden lair of the Humdrum Heisters—only to discover the gang has returned, and Bud has been taken hostage. As the gang tries to interrogate Bud, Plastic Man makes a dramatic entrance through the chimney, rescuing his partner and exposing the criminals’ plan.
