Snake Oil Sam, a slick traveling salesman, tries to keep the local townspeople from flocking to the arrival of Colonel Lane’s Mammoth Circus by hyping his own miracle snake oil and mocking the circus’s freaks. When the circus rolls in with its own bizarre acts—including a tiny man and a famously fat lady—Sam scrambles to outshine them, turning his own show into a wilder, more exaggerated performance to keep his customers loyal.
