In a zany Fourth of July picnic, Jim Dandy and his friends compete in silly athletic events, with Jim’s pal Dash using a bean shooter to sabotage rivals—until his tricks backfire in the final race. As Jim narrowly wins the sack race and diving contest, he’s crowned champion, but his celebration is cut short when he realizes he has no money to buy Denise a present for her party.
In "The Big Brave Hunter," Shorty Shiner, a diminutive but confident frontier scout, attempts to prove his marksmanship to the skeptical Chief Sitting Bull, only to accidentally hit a passing traveler—much to the man's surprise. Meanwhile, in a separate, wacky subplot, the traveling medicine show's eccentric performer Bammy Boozle uses a cleverly drawn cardboard barrel and a pocket spigot to "extract" vinegar for a grocer, all while dodging the grocer’s endless excuses.
Jo, a small but stubborn newcomer in a dusty frontier town, stands up to a rowdy crowd after being mistaken for a coward. When challenged, he defiantly declares, "But my father was a clam digger!"—a claim that leaves everyone stunned, even as the town’s latest gadget ads scroll by in the background.
