A man named Brock is found dead, and a visitor named Fritz becomes the prime suspect; however, detective work involving ballistic evidence—specifically lint from a man's pocket containing traces of cherry trees, which do not grow on the island—ultimately reveals the true murderer and exonerates Fritz.
