Girls' Crystal #956 is an anthology publication containing three distinct stories. "Friends of the Gipsy Skater" follows Carol Fenton, who takes the place of a gypsy girl named Mitzi in a Swiss skating competition, but encounters a mysterious stranger who demands the costume back, revealing it belonged to Mitzi's mother. "Hetty & Hal in Holland" by Elise Probyn tells of two children invited to the Mayor's house in Holland, where they accidentally break his greenhouse with a football and must work to solve the mystery of who is responsible. The final story, "The Indian Encampment," follows Wanda as she searches through snowy woods for the lost Meenha, a Redskin girl, discovering her sheltering in an abandoned camp and helping her return safely home.
