An anthology featuring nine stories, including "Mystery Girl of the Nile," in which Sandra Drake and Beryl Gregg travel to Egypt with schoolgirls and become entangled in a plot involving an Arab sheik's attempt to prevent his daughter Yasmin from proving her true identity as the rightful heir. "Carol of the Circus" by Doreen Gray follows Carol Meldrum, daughter of a circus owner, as she investigates a mystery involving missing parents and discovers clues related to a circus wagon and stolen lute brooches. Additional stories include "Lynebourne Woods," in which Rory and Elsie search for druid stones in the woods and encounter Mr. West, who steals a vital secret and sells a dog to cover his tracks; and "The Make-Believe Princess," wherein Deanna Stanley impersonates a princess to recover hidden documents that prove innocence, narrowly escaping enemies while retrieving a key hidden inside a clock.
