Dilly Duncan, described as "America's Funniest School Hero," appears in two comedic stories in this issue. In the first story, Dilly and his girlfriend Carol go to the beach where Dilly gets overheated and must cool off in the water; when a boy named Ellsworth arrives with a canoe, Dilly attempts to impress the girls but falls in the water and loses a contest to Ellsworth, resulting in the tide coming in and stranding him. In the second story, Dilly and his friend encounter a woman at the Duncan residence who is promoting a movie contest; Dilly enters the amateur film contest and wins first prize, leading to his film being shown on television where his unintentional comedic antics—including physical gags and slapstick—are mistaken for professional acting talent by viewers watching "The Moth-Eaten Musketeers."
