In "Take a Letter," a nervous carrier-pigeon named Coo Coo is forced to deliver mail from a clock tower to distant, absurd destinations—first the South Pole, then the Isle of Pongo Pongo—only to lose each letter in increasingly frantic mishaps. With each failed delivery, he pleads for another chance, until his final attempt ends in a surprise twist that leaves him questioning his place in the postal system.
Jo and Henry are deep in a tic-tac-toe game when Aunt Mabel interrupts, reminding Jo of a promised lawn-mowing duty. Though Jo protests, determined to finish their game, Aunt Mabel insists on keeping the promise, leaving Jo frustrated as Henry prepares to take his turn.
In "The Idle Rumor," a newly wealthy cat named Percival Paw inherits a worthless estate, only to be overwhelmed by mounting tax bills—until he convinces his friend Cuffy to sell him the property, claiming he’ll dig for buried treasure. As word spreads that Charlie has struck gold, the rumor spirals into a townwide frenzy, leading to a surprising twist that turns the joke on its head.
