Candy #8 (1949)

Candy is reluctantly drawn into the Hartwick High Winter Carnival after her friend Tina points out that she’s the perfect candidate to win the queen title—especially when she learns the judge is Dave Jones, the charming ski instructor from Lost Haven Lodge. As she prepares for the contests, Candy finds herself unexpectedly motivated, even as rival Cornelias attempts to sabotage her, and her crush Ted Dawson’s antics only add to the mix. The story builds toward the final events of the carnival with playful rivalry and a dash of romantic tension, all set against the backdrop of ski races and ice-skating fun.
