In the mining town of Diggerville, a series of brutal murders on the trail to Dry Gulch leaves the townspeople terrified, with footprints and a knife pointing to Coyote Charlie as the likely culprit. When the mob demands justice and prepares to lynch him, Black Diamond arrives and intervenes, taking Charlie into custody despite the town's fury. As Black Diamond investigates the crime scenes with Charlie, the true nature of the attacks begins to unravel—revealing that the killer may not be who the townspeople believe.
Black Diamond and his companion Bumper arrive in the eerily silent town of Custerville, hoping for food and rest, only to find the townspeople absent and the locals hostile, with the sheriff and barkeep refusing to help. As tension mounts and sudden violence erupts, Black Diamond realizes fear is the town’s unspoken law—and that someone is hiding a deadly secret.
