“Broken Promises”

In "Broken Promises," the X-Men are ensnared in a vast underground facility where Professor X’s telepathic link to his team is severed, leaving them isolated and vulnerable. With the members of the Promise in suspended animation and one awakening to revive Angel, the team plunges into a chasm—only to be captured by the Mole Man. Written and illustrated by John Byrne, with inks by Tom Palmer and colors by Greg Wright, this 2001 issue delivers a tense, claustrophobic descent into mystery, all wrapped in Byrne’s distinctive cover art.
