The X-Men arrive in Mississippi to investigate a new mutant who absorbs the power of others and knocks them unconscious. Anna has already run away, however, as her abilities have made her a pariah at her school. Running into trouble on the road, she is captured and taken to a secret facility where testing is being done on mutants to learn how to reverse their genetic mutation. She orchestrates an escape with her fellow mutants and finds herself on the run once again.
