“Salvage Part One”

In "Salvage Part One," Rogue is holed up in the forgotten town of Maynard Plains, wrestling with the lingering echoes of Mystique and a strange anthropologist whose research feels far too personal. With Professor X reaching out to Gambit to track her down and make amends for a past promise, the quiet town suddenly becomes a target when a Shi'ar salvage ship detects signs of valuable lost tech. Written by Mike Carey and illustrated by Scot Eaton, with inks by Andrew Hennessy and letters by Cory Petit, this issue blends psychological tension with a looming cosmic mystery—its haunting cover by Lee Bermejo captures the isolation and unease of a place forgotten by time.
