The Beast is able to divest his teammates of their cosmically induced powers and return them to their normal mutant state. Just in time, too, as the X-Men and the FF engage in an all out war with the invading Brood. Thanks to some trickery on the part of Reed and Emma, the Brood flee earth and the day is saved.
