Professor X has a vivid space dream and awakens to tell the X-Men that they must board Peter Corbeau's space shuttle and investigate. The X-Men secretly replace the crew and travel to Starcore with Corbeau. They discover that Eric the Red has taken over the space station and it is badly damaged when they battle him. The X-Men re-board the space shuttle and take off before Starcore explodes but Eric starts taking pot shots at their ship. Jean pilots the damaged shuttle back to Earth but the radiation begins to prove too much for her body.
