Cable tries to take down Dr. Adler (really Mystique in disguise) and is hampered by the interference of Rogue, Cyclops and Jean. Rogue decides not to undergo Adler's mutant reversal experiment and remains with the X-Men. Angel arrives and agrees to go through Adler's process but, instead of having his powers removed, is actually transformed by Apocalypse into the deadly Archangel.
