The issue contains two stories. In "Jail Break," outlaw Lance Colby, alias Jack Fischer, is arrested and claims he was wrongly accused of a bank robbery he didn't commit; however, Wyatt Earp discovers Colby has unloaded shells from his gun and suspects foul play, eventually determining that Colby plans to escape jail and frame Earp for it. The second story, "The Indian and the Artist," is a text feature with illustrations discussing the history and culture of Plains Indians, particularly the Sioux, their horsemen traditions, and artwork by Frederic Remington depicting Indian life and warfare during the conflicts with American forces.
