Wyatt Earp volunteers as a hostage to ride with the border bandit Josito, gambling that he can control the desperate gang long enough to bring their leader back to Texas for trial. As they head toward the Rio Grande, Earp uses nerve and quick fists to keep Josito in check while the bandit's men circle closer, each one waiting for a chance that never comes.
