Aug 1988 · DC · 2.50 USD; 3.50 CAD
“The Arson Fiend And... The Spectre!”

In "The Arson Fiend And... The Spectre!", the Spectre investigates a bizarre murder at a corporate board meeting, where a mysterious hag uses a voodoo doll to kill a board member and threatens Sterling Textiles with further violence unless they stop producing their infamous peek-a-boo dresses. As the Spectre hunts the enigmatic assailant, reporter Earl Crawford sees a chance to finally confront the legendary supernatural entity—driven by curiosity, desperation, and a growing sense that something far darker is at play. Written by Michael Fleisher and illustrated with striking intensity by Jim Aparo, with inks by Pablo Marcos, colors by Adrienne Roy, and letters by John Costanza, the cover by Jim Aparo captures the eerie tension of a story where justice and vengeance blur.

A board meeting of Sterling Textiles, Incorporated is halted by a weird hag with a voodoo doll, who kills a board member whose image is found on that doll, and warns the other board members that the company should cease manufacturing the peek-a-boo dresses it is known for or else. While the Spectre is trying to track her down, reporter Earl Crawford, upon hearing about the death of Henderson to voodoo, decides following that story may finally bring him face-to-face with the Spectre.
