“While Simon Slept...!”

In "While Simon Slept...!", a haunting mystery unfolds when Luther is tasked with uncovering the truth behind a centuries-old legend—the belief that an alien descendant appears only under the moonlight. Written by Carl Wessler and illustrated by John Giunta, this eerie 1956 tale weaves deception and identity in a suspenseful twist that leaves Luther questioning his own past. The story's chilling atmosphere is matched by Carl Burgos’s striking cover art, capturing the moonlit tension of the tale.

Luther is asked to expose the person believed to be descended from aliens who allegedly landed 200 years ago and resume their true appearance only by moonlight. Luther tries to frame Fred as the alien as revenge on Fred's father for marrying the woman he loved, only to find Luther himself is the alien, without realizing it. Luther is imprisoned and apologizes for the deception.
