World of Suspense #3
In "The Man Who Couldn't Be Touched!", a scientist shields himself from an atomic war he accurately predicted, only to emerge two decades later to find the world transformed—where a longevity serum grants a millennium of life, but only to those under thirty. Written by Jack Oleck and illustrated by Bob Forgione with inks by Jack Abel, this 1956 tale from World of Suspense explores isolation, time, and the unforeseen consequences of survival. The cover, a striking piece by Carl Burgos, captures the moment of revelation with haunting precision.

A scientist correctly predicts atomic war and develops a force field to remain behind. His calculations of its duration are incorrect, however, as he believes the war will last twenty years when it only lasts for months. After twenty years he emerges from behind his force field to learn that a serum has been developed to allow people to live for a thousand years but it has no effect on anyone over thirty.
