A thief runs through a village after a robbery. He takes shelter in Johan the Mirror Maker's shop. The police question Johan, but Johan doesn't realize that Boris has snuck in. After the police leave, Boris confronts the old man. Johan gives him a magic mirror that can alter his appearance. Boris transforms his image into that of a younger man, then breaks into a mansion. Fleeing, Boris collides with an old man, who has a heart attack. Back in his room, Boris changes his image to the old man's. The mirror works its magic only too well, as Boris falls to the floor in a death-like state.
