Woody Woodpecker #10
In "The Rain War," Woody Woodpecker’s envy of his friend Winnie’s obsession with TV star Rod Rockcliff leads him to a dramatic makeover—complete with a topknot, new clothes, and a fitness routine—only to be mistaken for the celebrity himself by a pair of kidnappers. Written by Vic Lockman and illustrated by Joe Messerli, with lettering by Larry Mayer, this 1994 Harvey Comics adventure captures Woody’s misadventure with classic slapstick flair. The cover, by Jorge Pacheco, perfectly captures the chaos of the moment.
