This anthology issue features stories starring The Flame, Yarko the Great, Spark Stevens, and Patty O'Day. In the Yarko story visible on page 20, the magician encounters a mysterious disappearing bridge that plunges him into a canyon river, from which he is rescued by a great vulture. The Patty O'Day sequence on page 36 involves a stolen artifact called the "Star of Buddha" and a dangerous encounter with Chinese adversaries in a temple, after which Patty and her companions escape via a secret passage. Additional action sequences on page 50 depict combat and confrontation scenes involving multiple characters in various perilous situations.
