Wolverine fakes his death and is shipped to Japan in a pine box. Unable to take possession of their friend's body, Tyger and Archie are helpless as Dai-Kumo takes Logan's body and buries him six feet deep. Wolverine digs himself out of his grave and with Reiko's help, has a final confrontation with Dai-Kumo and Goro, ultimately destroying the monkey brain serum from which the drug Thunderbolt is synthesized.
