Takura confronts Fuura and shows her that she has defeated Gakura by cutting him in half. Horrified, Fuura tells Takeru the story of how Master Hougen resurrected the demons and tortured them to create the ultimate weapon. In retaliation, the demons have kept Hougen alive and feed on his body parts to cause him suffering and give them strength. She also reveals that Hougen introduced demon DNA into his pregnant wife to create a half-demon daughter who might become a bearer of the Witchblade. Hougen is Takeru's father. Fuura consumes Hougen's heart in preparation for battle with the Witchblade.
