The story depicts American pilots engaged in aerial combat operations against Japanese forces, with scenes showing dogfights, damaged aircraft, and military confrontations. The issue includes a letters column ("Wings Air Mail") where readers discuss their favorite characters and stories, and a "Plane Talk" section featuring reader feedback on various features in the comic.
When Captain Wings and a mercy transport mission come under attack from Japanese fighters over China, the captain is forced to bail out deep in enemy territory with wounded Rangers and a nurse named Jane Martin. Stranded on a river raft with casualties who can't travel overland, Wings must keep the Zeros at bay while racing against time for his squadron to locate them before Japanese patrols finish the job. It's a desperate gamble where every second counts and the only weapon between survival and disaster is a salvaged gun turret and the captain's quick thinking.
Clipper Kirk's routine patrol takes a dangerous turn when he tangles with an enemy squadron—only to discover he's been captured by Princess Nokiyama and her all-female unit, the Dragon's Daughters, a fearsome Japanese propaganda weapon. Imprisoned and facing what looks like certain death in the enemy's trophy room, Clipper must seize a desperate moment to turn the tables and escape the Dragon's clutches.
