Kermit Kendall, a retired pilot now running a plantation in the Gilbert Islands, receives an urgent warning from a native about Japanese war preparations—but the skeptical American and British officials dismiss him outright. Determined to prove them wrong, Kendall flies to the Japanese-held Marshall Islands to gather evidence, only to be captured and imprisoned by the commandant. Using his wits and a rusted spoon, he escapes, sabotages an enemy carrier, and races back to sound the alarm—but discovers the strike on Honolulu may already be underway.

Clipper Kirk scrambles his fighter patrol when the German battleship Admiral Tirpitz targets the newly launched British destroyer H.M.S. Devon, and after driving off the Nazi warship and its seaplanes, he uncovers a sinister spy operation hidden within the British shipyard itself. A mastermind has been carving intricate scale models of each new vessel built, complete with gun placements, smuggling them out of England so Nazi forces can ambush Britain's newest warships before they reach the fleet. Kirk and Major Briggs must hunt down the saboteur and his contact before the next ship launches into the crosshairs.
