"The Skull Squad" in "Coffin-Slugs for the Luftwaffe" follows fighter pilots engaged in aerial dogfights against Nazi forces. "The Carpet of Allah" by Gordon Wayne depicts Bill and Art, bomber pilots, hunting a Nazi aircraft and encountering a downed enemy pilot with a cryptic message about "Carpet of Allah." A third story features Kirk spotting Nazi planes and a submarine attacking a convoy, with Kirk engaging the enemy aircraft from his seaplane near a lighthouse.
Kip Van Hoek, a young South African pilot, arrives at an Egyptian airfield only to find his childhood friend and squadron mate Jacob Vliet under suspicion of treason—accused of selling out the base to the Nazis. When secret orders go missing and a bombing raid is mysteriously compromised, Van Hoek becomes the target of ugly suspicion himself. A dangerous desert encounter reveals the truth and forces him and Vliet to fight their way through enemy territory to expose the real traitor and strike back at the Nazi base.
