“What If...Dr. Doom Kept the Beyonder's Powers”

In *What If? Secret Wars #1* (2009), Dr. Doom emerges victorious from the Secret Wars, wielding the Beyonder’s godlike powers to reshape Earth into a perfect, orderly realm under his rule. With the Infinity Gems in his grasp and alien empires conquered, his reign draws the wrath of the Celestials—leading to a cosmic clash that sends Earth spiraling into a deadly global winter. Written by Karl Bollers and illustrated by Jorge Molina, with a striking cover by Giuseppe Camuncoli, this alternate take on the Secret Wars explores the cost of absolute control and the fragile hope of renewal.

Dr. Doom wins the Secret War and uses the power of the Beyonder to defeat Earth's heroes and make the world an ideal place to live under his monarchy. His grasp extends into the universe as he captures the infinity gems and conquers a horde of alien races. This causes the Celestials to come after him and, during their battle, Earth is moved from its orbit causing a global winter that most do not survive. With his power nearly depleted, Doom uses the last of the Beyonder's energy to move the Earth back into orbit so that humanity can have a new start with Doom himself as a member.
