Cap is thawed from the ice in 1994 only to learn that, thanks to the Sleeper robots, the Nazis won World War III and took over the planet. He is given this history lesson by Dr. Doom, one of the few free agents left to oppose the Red Skull. Doom asks Cap to lead a team of his allies to destroy one of the Skull's radar installations in Canada. During the battle, Cap learns that Doom has been less than truthful as he and the Red Skull have split the planet down the middle to rule. The X-Patriots, including Cap's WWII ally, Namor, arrive to oppose Doom's forces.
