In "Gabby Goes Wool-Gathering," the neighboring ranchers become suspicious of Gabby Hayes when he suddenly befriends the foreman of the Bar Nothing Ranch, suspecting him of becoming a sheepman. A stranger arrives at the Bar Nothing Ranch with three thousand head of cattle to be herded there, and Vingo's gang plans to blow up the bridges and stampede the cattle to relieve the food shortage. Monte Hale confronts the criminals attempting to steal the cattle, leading to a gunfight at Vingo's ranch house, where dynamite is set to destroy the safe but fails to open it, ultimately resulting in the criminals' defeat.
