Wendy Parker had already appeared as a backup feature in the Miss America title before Atlas spun her out into this dedicated series in the spring of 1953, with an on-sale date of April 10, 1953 and a cover date of July 1953. The art duties fell to Christopher Rule — a veteran illustrator who had worked in children's books and fashion illustration in the 1920s and 1930s before joining Timely Comics as a staff artist in 1944 — whose primary penciling showcase across his long Marvel tenure was precisely the Wendy Parker series. Rule was formally credited as 'art associate' under editorial and art director Stan Lee at Atlas around this period, situating the title squarely within the house's staff-produced output rather than the freelance ecosystem. The Patsy Walker backup story in the issue was drawn by Morris Weiss, a regular contributor to Atlas's teen-humor line; writer credits for all story content in this issue remain unidentified.
