Web of Spider-Man #1

History

Announced in Marvel's December 2023 solicitations and released on March 20, 2024, the issue was shepherded by Spider-Man group editor Nick Lowe as a deliberately structured anthology — unusual in modern Marvel publishing — designed to act as a single access point into the entire Spider-Man corner of the line following the close of Gang War. Lowe assembled a roster of writers already working on the active Spider-titles (Zeb Wells on Amazing Spider-Man, Cody Ziglar on Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Steve Foxe on Spider-Woman and the Chasm story, Stephanie Phillips on the forthcoming Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider, Greg Weisman on Spectacular Spider-Men, and Alex Segura on Edge of Spider-Verse), pairing each with their regular or affiliated artists — including Ed McGuinness, John Romita Jr., Salvador Larroca, Eleonora Carlini, Eric Gapstur, Greg Land, Ig Guara, and Joey Vazquez — giving the book an unusually cohesive editorial vision despite its multi-writer structure. Greg Capullo, best known for his long run on Batman at DC, provided the main cover.
