“Days of Future Now Part 2 of 5”

In *Weapon X: Days of Future Now #2*, set five years ahead in a world where John Sublime is dead and Colcord rules the Weapon X program with an iron fist, the future grows darker as his Sentinel army expands unchecked. With Colcord using Mesmero, Sauron, and Wildchild to lure Wolverine into a trap, the X-Men face a brutal assault—overwhelmed and broken, only a wounded Logan survives to grapple with the cost of failure. The story unfolds with tense momentum, as even Colcord’s own forces begin to turn against him when the Sentinels start eliminating mutants without distinction. Written by Frank Tieri and illustrated by Bart Sears, with inks by Mark Pennington and colors by Michael Atiyeh, the cover by Sears and Pennington captures the grim urgency of a world on the brink.

Five years in the future, with John Sublime dead and with his Sentinel army growing, Colcord is firmly in control of the Weapon X program and sets his sights on the world. Six years in the future, Colcord uses Mesmero, Sauron and Wildchild to threaten the X-Men to draw out Wolverine. Despite Wolverine’s best efforts, Colcord has his Sentinels destroy the X-Men but leaves a badly wounded Logan to recover and live with his failure. Things start to go wrong when the Sentinels also kill Mesmero and Wildchild, claiming that they are programmed to kill ALL mutants.
