War Heroes #9

This anthology issue contains two war stories. The first depicts an aerial dogfight in which a Corsair pilot named Hodde engages Japanese Zero fighters over the Pacific, successfully destroying enemy aircraft despite being outnumbered and sustaining damage that forces him into a desperate dive and eventual crash landing. The second story follows Marines landing in a jungle and engaging Japanese forces, including a soldier named Bob Hilsky who uses a machine gun to eliminate a Japanese sniper, and ends with Jake and other soldiers being rescued at sea after combat operations conclude near Shanghai.
