# War Heroes #23 The issue contains at least two war stories. "No Glory Left!" follows soldiers in combat against German forces, including a memorable character named Wenzel, described as the best tail gunner in the 8th Air Force, who is killed in action after being hit in the skull during a bombing run. A second story depicts a submarine operation in which Major Bridger, a fighter group executive officer, leads the 8th Air Force to attack a Nazi assembly plant location, resulting in an intense ground battle against approximately three hundred German troops on a snowy slope.
