This issue contains two stories. The first depicts Allied soldiers ordered to halt their advance and regroup before a counterattack, during which they defeat German forces led by Oberstunnführer Mautz who is receiving reports of Allied officer movements. The second story, "The Capture of Chusawago's Castle," is a historical narrative about a 16th-century Japanese castle siege on the island of Honshu, in which Lord Chusawago's forces defended against Imperial armies using innovative tactics including a rope ladder system to allow soldiers to scale the castle walls at night; the castle eventually falls when the attacking forces breach the gates after climbing the ropes and defeating the guards. The comic also features combat sequences with soldiers engaging in foxhole defense, tank warfare, and grenade attacks against entrenched positions.

When Oberst-Bannführer Wolfgang Mautz's elite German armored regiment—Hitler's proud "Kinder"—faces American draftees for the first time on the Western Front, the battle becomes a clash between seasoned professionals and untested soldiers who must learn combat on the fly. As confusion and courage collide, these green G.I.s discover they have more fight in them than anyone—German or American—anticipated.

Mission: Kidnap the Desert Fox
6 pp · War

Lt. Al Durkin and his men devise a daring trap to capture Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, the legendary Desert Fox, during his counterattack near Kasserine Pass—leaving behind authentic battle-maps as bait to lure the German commander into their jeep-mounted ambush. As Rommel takes the bait and speeds toward their tent in his command car, Durkin's team springs their trap under cover of an air strike, leading to a desperate chase through the smoke and fire of battle. What unfolds is a high-stakes game of wits and nerve as the cunning German general tries to outmaneuver his American pursuers.

The Jap Zero
3 pp · War

When American forces recover an intact Mitsubishi Zero after its pilot is killed in the Aleutians, they gain the chance to unlock the secrets of Japan's most feared fighter—the aircraft that seemed unstoppable since Pearl Harbor. By subjecting the captured plane to thousands of hours of testing and combat trials against American fighters, engineers and pilots discover the Zero's critical weaknesses and develop tactics to counter it. What once appeared invincible becomes vulnerable, turning the tide of aerial warfare in the Pacific.

This Is a Man?
8 pp · War

A terrified replacement joins a brutal rifle squad during the fierce winter fighting of 1944, where hardened Sergeant Barker demands he fight or face court-martial—but when a German tank bears down on the foxhole, fear transforms into something harder and colder. By nightfall, the shaking recruit has become numb, mechanically firing at enemies and scrounging ammunition, until dawn brings him relief from the line and a chilling new role. As a fresh replacement arrives, the cycle begins again—and Lund realizes he's become exactly what the sergeant demanded: a man willing to do whatever it takes to survive.
