This issue features two true-crime stories. The first story involves Tony Barrow, who becomes entangled with criminal Len Gorman after witnessing a murder at a police apartment; when Gorman holds a gun to Barrow's head, Barrow's girlfriend Mildred attempts to intervene, resulting in her death, and Barrow seeks revenge by pursuing Gorman to a dock where the gangster attempts escape on a speedboat with accomplice Nick Lusito. The second story, "The Too Smart Killer," follows criminal Steve Buller, a clever but violent crook who attempts to murder his own sister to silence her as a witness, and whose overconfidence in his criminal scheming ultimately leads to his downfall through his own deception.
