Another story follows Ralph Flann, a criminal who commits murder and believes he has evaded justice through a clever scheme involving a typewriter that imprints evidence of his crime. A third story depicts a jewel heist carried out by a trio of criminals known as Healy, Manny, and Jaguar, who rob a dental supply store and attempt to flee to Mexico with their stolen gold, only to be pursued and apprehended by police during their escape.
On a sweltering August night in 1951, Charles Lester Mault—a drifter wanted for murder—crosses paths with a man taking a late walk to escape the heat in Tully, New York. What begins as a chance encounter on a dark street turns into something far more sinister when Mault's true intentions become clear. This hard-boiled crime tale follows the collision of two strangers and the consequences that follow.
Stick-up man Jaguar Healy thinks he's found the perfect hideout in the sleepy Texas hamlet of Garville—a place so quiet and trusting that he and his wounded crew can lay low undetected. But the town's close-knit neighbors are more observant than Healy gives them credit for, and their curiosity about the mysterious "cousin" visiting the Peters household may prove to be more dangerous than any police manhunt.
