Walt Kelly's Santa Claus Adventures #1
In "The Night Before Christmas," Walt Kelly reimagines the origins of Santa Claus in a gentle, whimsical tale where the jolly gift-giver once wore no red suit. When Jack Frost steals Santa’s sleigh and toys, he’s forced to seek shelter with a community of forest elves who help him craft a new coat from the red fur of a passing giant. With art and story by Walt Kelly, and a cover by George Broderick and Mark Yanko, this 1990 Innovation comic offers a charming, forgotten chapter in Santa’s legend—complete with handmade toys, a giant’s coat, and a winter’s night that changed everything.
