“The Runaway Witness”

In "The Runaway Witness," Sergeant Garcia is jolted from sleep by a rock and a cryptic note that sets him on a dangerous gamble: lure Zorro into a trap by pretending to be a prisoner. With the promise of finally capturing the elusive fox, Garcia must decide whether to trust a mysterious informant who claims to know Zorro’s next move. Alex Toth’s sharp, dynamic artwork brings the tension to life, making this a standout entry in the Dell Zorro series.

Sergeant Garcia is asleep at his desk when a rock crashes through the window with a note attached. It says that Garcia can capture Zorro if he comes to meet with the note writer at a prearranged time and location. The mysterious person tells Garcia that Zorro has learned about the movement of political prisoners to San Fernando and plans to free them. He suggests Garcia dress his Lancers as the prisoners and, when Zorro appears, he can turn the tables on the Fox. With such an advantage, can Garcia finally succeed?
