Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse #43
In "Braces for Swing," Mickey Mouse finds himself in a delightfully awkward predicament when Minnie convinces him to play a girl in a school play—only to be stranded with a flat tire and roped into a crooked scheme by a pair of con artists who mistake him for a woman. With Jack Bradbury handling the art and inks, and Paul Murry bringing the cover to life, this 1955 Dell comic delivers classic slapstick charm in a story where Mickey’s quick thinking turns the tables on a pair of impostors.

Mickey is pressured by Minnie into portraying a girl for a school play. On his way to the auditorium, his car has a flat tire which is fixed by a man who is actually a crook. He and his partner plan to swindle the Beeler heirs out of their inheritance by taking their place before the attorney arrives. Unfortunately, they need a female to portray Mrs. Beeler, and that's where Mickey fits into their scheme. Not realizing that he is actually a male, they force the mouse to play the part of Mr. Beeler's wife, but the enterprising Mickey soon spoils their crooked plans.
