“Tree's a Crowd”

In "Tree's a Crowd," Mickey finds himself caught in a farcical scheme when a flat tire leads him to a pair of con artists who need a woman to impersonate Mrs. Beeler at a crucial meeting. With Minnie’s insistence on his role in the school play still fresh, Mickey is unwittingly thrust into a cross-dressing deception that quickly spirals into chaos. Jack Bradbury’s expressive artwork brings the zany misadventure to life, while Carl Barks’ classic cover captures the story’s playful tone.

Mickey is pressured by Minnie into portraying a girl for a school play. On his way to the auditorium, his car has a flat tire which is fixed by a man who is actually a crook. He and his partner plan to swindle the Beeler heirs out of their inheritance by taking their place before the attorney arrives. Unfortunately, they need a female to portray Mrs. Beeler, and that's where Mickey fits into their scheme. Not realizing that he is actually a male, they force the mouse to play the part of Mr. Beeler's wife, but the enterprising Mickey soon spoils their crooked plans.
