"Plantation of Fear" follows Oliver Caxton as he investigates why his family's Ceylon tea plantation is cursed, encountering a deadly mandrake plant whose juice is poisonous. In a separate story, a mysterious woman named Cynara manipulates an American detective named Robert Snyde into stealing money for her, claiming she must become human and will steal his qualities when he dies, ultimately leading to Snyde's arrest while Cynara vanishes into the night.
