Visão #3
In this haunting 1975 issue of Visão, writer Victor Mesquita crafts a quiet yet unsettling moment in a deserted café, where Helena’s ordinary evening unravels when Jorge approaches with an ancient box. Inside, impossible objects defy reality—sand that falls upward, symbols that burn without flame, music from nowhere—and his strange offer to trade the box for a kiss sets off a tremor beneath their feet. The cover by unknown artist captures the moment just before everything shifts, leaving only the question: what happens when love feels like gravity breaking?
In the rugged frontier of Gresham County, Wisconsin, in 1974, the fugitive Nuvem Cinzenta and his companion Chico are hunted through the wilderness by a relentless sheriff and his men. Cornered and desperate, Nuvem Cinzenta steals a car to escape, abandoning Chico in a moment of survival that fractures their bond. As the chase reaches its climax, the sheriff demands surrender, calling him by his old name—Billy Burlington—only to be met with defiance. Nuvem Cinzenta, barricaded and resolute, refuses to return to the past, holding fast to the identity he’s forged in flight.
