Oct 2004 · Marvel · 2.99 USD; 4.25 CAD
“Cops and Monsters”

In "Cops and Monsters," Venom and Carnage clash over the fate of a newborn symbiote, their violent rivalry threatening to tear apart the city. Unbeknownst to them, Carnage’s offspring has already bonded with NYPD officer Patrick Mulligan—just as he’s drawn into a confrontation with the Black Cat, setting off a transformation that will redefine his life. Written by Peter Milligan and brought to life with bold, visceral art by Clayton Crain, this 2004 issue delivers a tense, high-stakes escalation in the symbiote war, with a cover by Crain that captures the chaos in striking detail.

Venom and Carnage continue to tear into each other over the fate of the new symbiote that Carnage is about to spawn (Venom wants to protect it and Carnage wants to kill it). Little do they know that Carnage has already "delivered" his child and it has bonded with New York police officer Patrick Mulligan. Patrick finds out himself as he is confronting the Black Cat about a recent art theft and papa Cletus shows up, causing him to transform into Toxin.
