This fourth and final issue of Vanguard: Strange Visitors closes out Image's 1997 series with a cover that throws readers straight into the chaos — a blue-armored, horn-helmed figure charges forward fist-first alongside a massive green rocky creature, while a red-armored powerhouse looms from above and a crowd of costumed combatants — including a patriotic shield-bearing figure and a long-haired brawler in red and gold — pile into the melee below. The cover pencils by Scot Eaton and inks by Erik Larsen give the whole scene a kinetic, wall-to-wall energy that makes it clear this series is going out swinging. If you picked up the first three issues, this one belongs alongside them.
