Archie Horror launches this five-issue series with a cover that sets the mood perfectly — Veronica Lodge in full vampire form, glowing red eyes and bloodied claws, striding purposefully toward us against a massive full moon, a gothic Victorian mansion looming in the shadows behind her. It's a genuinely atmospheric image, all deep purples and teal highlights, with bare winter trees and scattered ravens completing the eerie scene. Writers Frank Tieri and Michael Moreci team with artist Audrey Mok, whose cover work here is moody and precise, making this opener hard to pass up.
