Vampirella Armageddon #5
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeVampirella: Armageddon #5 represents a pivotal midpoint in Tom Sniegoski's ambitious, multi-year Sepulcher City saga — the deepest the narrative has yet plunged into the mythology of Hell itself, pitting Vampirella and her companion Walker against two warring infernal factions, the Drujh and the Legions of the Shroud, simultaneously. As the penultimate chapter before the series' back half escalates to universe-shaking stakes (including the debut of Dark Vampirella in later issues), #5 functions as the structural fulcrum around which the entire Armageddon arc pivots. The issue continues Dynamite's sustained creative investment in Vampirella as a franchise anchor, sustaining the post-apocalyptic Sepulcher City setting that Sniegoski has developed across multiple connected series.

Vampirella: Armageddon is the third consecutive Sepulcher City series from writer Tom Sniegoski and artist Kewber Baal, picking up directly where Vampirella Strikes! left off and escalating the cosmological scope of their shared run. Sniegoski, a prolific comics writer whose credits include Batman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hellboy, and a prequel to Jeff Smith's Bone — the only outside writer Smith has permitted to work on those characters — has described returning to Vampirella as instinctive and natural, reflecting years of accumulated fluency with the character and her world. Interior colors throughout the run are provided by Omi Remalante Jr., whose palette anchors Baal's dense, high-contrast linework in a post-apocalyptic atmosphere that critics noted blends traditional horror registers with science-fantasy world-building.
